yarn along

Hello! It’s been a little while since I have posted for Yarn Along! I’m not doing any knitting or crochet this week because of tendinitis in my hand again, caused my over knitting a birthday blanket. I am happily reading some good books though, it’s been nice to just immerse myself in them, though I do wish I could knit on a sock. I won’t though, I know it only makes recovery take longer.

enjoying a lazy day after staying out late celebrating my brother's wedding last night. My daughter caught the bouquet... she's thrilled about it haha but I'm not allowing her to be next. #bookstagram #caughtthebouquet #lazyday

My brother was married on Saturday, it was such a great day and night of celebrating. My daughter caught the bouquet, she was so excited. I know that she would have loved to have been involved in the wedding, she loves that kind of thing, so catching the bouquet was a really awesome thing for her! We’reΒ not very close to my brother and as much as I would like to change that, I doubt it ever will change, so we weren’t involved. The only part we really took part in was getting to eat first with the wedding party, so it wasn’t too terrible!

Since we were out so late, we spent the next day being lazy. I read Truly Madly Guilty by Liane Moriarty. I enjoy her writing, so I gobbled the book up pretty quickly. In her usual style there was a twist and you don’t find out what the big incident was until close to the end. I didn’t see too much of it coming, so I should have enjoyed it more than I did. I liked it but didn’t love it.

jumping into a new book today, excited for this one!! Also, gonna dig into some Halloween chocolate πŸŽƒ love when these come out #bookstagram #kelleyarmstrong #halloween

The next book I dove into is Betrayals by Kelley Armstrong, this is the fourth book in her Cainsville series. It’s been a year since I read the last one, so I needed some refreshing and Kelley always does a great job reminding you of what happened in previous books without it seeming cheesy. I don’t know if that’s really the word I’m searching for but sometimes other books will tell you what happened so forcefully without it meaning much to the new story but in Kelley’s books, it’s all worked in pretty seamlessly. I wanted to take my time with this one because I know I will be waiting another whole year for the next but I couldn’t help myself, I devoured it! If you’ve read her books before, you’ll probably understand the feeling. And if you haven’t already, try out the Cainsville series!

I have been devouring books lately! This is the next one I'm digging into. I'm resting my hand after knitting that birthday blanket, my tendinitis came back so it's hurting quite a bit. I want to knit and crochet so badly, so all this reading is a good di

I’m now just starting to read The Light Between Oceans by M.L. Stedman. A movie is being made from the book and I had been hearing how great it looked, so I was excited to read the book. I chose to try to avoid seeing the preview before reading the book because I wanted to go in knowing nothing, I have done that with a couple books this year and really liked that. Unfortunately, I did see a few seconds of the trailer about a week ago, so I knew things… it’s okay though, I’m still ready to read it.

linking up with Yarn Along today

Thanks for stopping by and reading today! I hope you all have a great week πŸ™‚

  1. Love the birthday blanket. Thank goodness we have other projects we can turn to when out bodies fail us temporarily, right?
Sounds like you have some great books there. I need to add a few of those to my “to read” list. Thank you!

  2. Sorry you have been feeling poorly. By now you’ve been to the oral surgeon and all should be squared away with your tooth. Keep reading and take it one day at a time.
