Summer is definitely winding down now, the days are not so painfully hot and the nights are so cool that our house is really cold in the mornings. I’m so ready for fall!

the only project I've been working on πŸ˜πŸ’— #crochetgirlgang #craftastherapy #popcornlove #vintagecrochet #makersgonnamake

we gave our parents this portrait done by @lovelyworksbyheather for their anniversary this year. Heather's work is really incredible! #anniversarygift #lovelyworksbyheather

  • I’ve only been crocheting this summer, I haven’t picked up any knitting at all. The blanket above is so close to being completed. I’m still so excited about this blanket, I love laying it out on my bed already, it almost covers my king sized bed now. I thought I might have been finished with the full hexagons but I was wrong and am making a few more now. Crocheting more is not a pain at all, I’m loving it so much, I think I might miss making them once I’ve finished.
  • As I said, I haven’t been knitting at all but I am thinking about Christmas socks for my husband. I had a pair of socks almost finished for him last year that I’m going to pull out and see if they are even the right size, which I kind of don’t think they are, so if not, I’ll probably rip them out and restart because he would love the yarn.
  • I’m not liking my yarn stash lately, I’ve even been wanting to get rid of most of it, sock yarns mainly. It might be the fact thatΒ I haven’t been knitting this summer and some other things that I’ve been dealing with. One of these days, I may actually get through a post to spill it all, I’ve started a few and then stopped. Seriously, depression is such a shit thing.
  • Ok, move on from that. My parent’s celebrated their 35 year anniversary this month. We found an amazing local artist to draw a portrait of them, Lovely Works by Heather. It’s so perfect and it looks just like them, we were so happy with this purchase!

That’s really all I can think of to share right now, typing has been a bit of struggle for me lately, I’ve sat down to post too many times this month but just haven’t been able to publish anything. It’s a bit like my instagram, I haven’t really post much this summer there either. BUT, I have been posting in my stories there a lot! That’s a feature I thought I would not use ever. I’ve been posting my bunny sightings there, so many out this summer. I’m calling one my bunny friend even haha. He lives by one of the high schools I walk by every day, so I see him every morning. Makes me feel like a bit of a dork but it’s not gonna bother me, it’s really giving me something to look forward to…

Anyway, I hope anyone out there reading is having an enjoyable summer! Enjoy the last few weeks!

  1. Oh Casey, I too suffer from depression and am having a hard time dealing with it these past few weeks!..it’s like a horrible black cloud comes over and envelopes you isn’t it?. But I did a course on mindfulness and am very lucky to have a little dog to get me out and about, so I go for a walk, listening to nature, or whatever noises are about, and just ‘be’ in the moment, and try not to dwell on things I can’t change…..not easy some days, but when the sun is shining and nature is talking it seems a much more of a beautiful world. Your hexagon blanket is beautiful, so very clever. Have a wonderful week, sue

  2. That drawing is amazing. What a great, personalized gift for your parents. I have no idea where the summer has gone. I hope you are doing better. Saw hi to your bunny for me….it is the little things that make you smile which brighten your day.

  3. I love your blanket! I have always been drawn to texture in crochet, and your blanket not only has texture but a lacy quality to it too! Kudos! And I don’t think you’re a dork at all for posting bunny sightings or looking forward to seeing your bunny friend on your walks; I actually think it’s delightful.
